Student matters
- Students are expected to work experientially, with
personal material and with the group process. These requirements are seen
as being essential to personal development and to becoming a competent practitioner.
- Although there is no requirement that students must
be in therapy, they may be advised to seek counseling during a course of study.
- Interviews are given at the end of each year of
study to each student, for review and discussion.
- Absence from class of more than 20% of any unit
will constitute failure to meet attendance requirements. Extra work or attendance
at additional seminars or workshops will be required.
- All supervision hours must be met - shortfalls must be made up.
- All units of study require submissions and set dates
must be met. However extensions may be requested of the relevant MIECAT
staff member.
- Student evaluation of units is requested on a regular
basis.
- A policy and procedure for grievance handling and resolution exists,
and is made known to each student at the commencement of each course of
study.
- While not necessary, access to email and the Internet,
will be of benefit to students.
- All students are eligable for membership to the Student Association.
- Students in training will be expected to work within
the MIECAT Code of Ethics.
Classes / Processes
- Class sizes are small, usually ranging from 10 to 20.
- Classes are conducted in flexible time formats that
vary from three-hour weekly blocks to intensive weekends, and/or combinations
of these. Be sure to refer to the current Timetable

- The processes (both personal and group) are multi-modal,
experiential and arts based.
- Brisbane students please note that all classes will be held at the following
venue unless otherwise notified: Eco Centre, Nathan Campus, Griffith University, Nathan QLD 4111.
