This course is currently only available in Melbourne, Australia. The Master of Arts (by Research) is suitable for students wishing to apply phenomenological, experiential and heuristic research methodologies to studies of lived experience in the fields of education, counselling, arts making and community health. Please read the Study Information page for general student and study matters.
Candidates must first meet one (1) of the following requirements in order to apply for admission to the Master of Arts (by Research) programme:

NOTE: Applicants in Category 'B' who apply for the Master of Arts (by Research) may be required to complete a number of units from the Graduate Diploma programme. Some students will be able to complete these concurrently with the M.A study, while other students will be required to complete these as prerequisite units. These decisions are made on a case-by-case basis.

The Master of Arts (by Research) may only be taken part time over two years.

* These in-class programmes are restricted by class size. Students will be given individual (i.e. one-to-one) research supervision covering all in-class material should numbers fall below a preset minimum.
